Ray is the Director of Niche, a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. This means Ray is operating at the pinnacle of achievement within the financial services industry and is one of only a select few to achieve both statuses.
Ray's financial career began in 1996 after an initial career as a police officer. He founded Niche in 2005 and has since honed his skill set to become one of the most qualified professionals with the best financial experience.
In 2010 Ray was awarded Chartered status, meaning the advice he provides is the gold standard within the industry (click here to learn more). A self-confessed ‘pensions geek,’ Ray specialises in all types of pension rules and even provides advice to other financial advisers, including expert witness services.
Ray endeavours to improve the financial services profession through training the next generation of financial advisers and is a key figure within the 'fintech' industry. He is known for establishing and developing the UK's leading cashflow planning software provider, CashCalc.
CashCalc was initially developed in 2014 by Ray and his fellow financial advisers as an exclusive in-house tool. However, after revolutionising our own advice process, the decision was made to make it available to all. Today CashCalc provides a range of financial planning tools to over 12,000 financial advisers around the UK.
Ray is married to Kim, has two children - Ross and Kelly - and is the proud grandfather to Ruby and Evelyn. Away from the office, he is a fanatical skier and lover of Welsh rugby.
